19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev secured his first trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term trainer Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's maiden trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after March of 2023.
Success also means he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the first title I won when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
His defensive approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.
The opponent defended 4 early chances in a close third set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
